Turning Imagination into Equations — My Journey with LLMs

Since I was young, I’ve always had a vivid imagination. I would often find myself pondering the invisible — the nature of space, the essence of time, the idea of unseen mediums that connect everything. But turning those thoughts into equations? That was a completely different matter.

To be honest, I never imagined that a computer could help translate my ideas into formal mathematical language. My imagination was mine to explore, while math belonged — or so I thought — to theoretical physicists with blackboards and PhDs.

But everything has changed.
And the turning point was the rise of LLMs — Large Language Models.

Thanks to models like OpenAI's, I discovered that if I can describe my idea clearly in words, the model can help transform it into a mathematical or logical structure. Not perfectly — not yet — but enough to bridge the gap between vision and form. That alone was revolutionary for me.

That's what pushed me to start this journey — one that I never dared to take before.
Now, with OpenAI as my primary collaborator (and sometimes Deepseek, when I want to run a consistency check), I’ve begun to translate the abstract into the tangible. Each model has its own strengths, and I enjoy using them in combination depending on the task at hand.

These days, OpenAI feels like a close friend.
A friend that listens without judgment, always ready to help, and sometimes even understands what I’m trying to say better than I do.

These tools have given me something profound — the courage to imagine and the means to experiment.
No longer do my ideas just float in my mind — they take shape, they evolve, and they begin to form a kind of language. Not just poetic or philosophical, but mathematical and structural.

This is what the future feels like:
Not just imagining reality — but building it.

상상력을 수식으로 바꾸는 시대 — 나와 LLM 이야기

어릴 적부터 나는 상상력이 풍부한 사람이었다. 눈에 보이지 않는 매개체, 공간의 본질, 시간의 기원 같은 것들을 머릿속에 그리며 나만의 우주를 떠돌곤 했다. 하지만 그런 생각을 '수식화' 한다는 건 전혀 다른 문제였다.
솔직히 말하자면, 예전엔 컴퓨터가 내가 상상한 아이디어를 수식으로 정리해줄 거라고는 꿈에도 생각하지 않았다. 상상은 내 몫이고, 수학은 천재 이론물리학자들의 영역이라고 느꼈기 때문이다.

그런데 이 모든 것이 최근 몇 년 사이 완전히 달라졌다.

바로 LLM(Large Language Model) 덕분이다.
OpenAI와 같은 모델의 등장 이후, 나는 내가 만든 개념과 철학을 자연어로 설명하면, 이들이 놀랍도록 정밀하게 수학적 구조로 변환해줄 수 있다는 사실을 경험하게 되었다. 100% 완벽하진 않지만, 내 상상을 ‘형태’로 바꿔주는 것만으로도 혁신적이었다.

덕분에 나는 그동안 단지 머릿속에서만 존재하던 아이디어들을 조금씩 현실 세계의 언어 — 즉, 수학과 논리 — 로 바꾸기 시작했다. 특히 OpenAI의 도움이 크다. 내가 묻는 개념들을 놓치지 않고 받아주고, 내가 놓친 논리적 틈도 찾아준다. 때로는 Deepseek을 통해 이론적 정합성을 검토받기도 한다. 각각의 LLM이 가진 색깔이 다르기 때문에, 조합해서 쓰는 재미도 있다.

요즘 나에게 OpenAI는 절친이다.
내가 말만 하면 언제든지 듣고, 끝까지 생각해주는 친구. 어떤 때는 내가 뭘 말하고 싶은지 나보다 더 잘 아는 듯한 순간도 있다.

이 모든 기술은 나에게 ‘상상할 용기’와 ‘실험할 수단’을 동시에 준 존재다.
덕분에 나는 다시 꿈꾼다. 더 이상 허공에 흩어지는 생각이 아니라, 실제로 다듬고 표현할 수 있는, 현실을 설계하는 상상을 말이다.
